Reduced Parasitic Drag on the Speedway
A lighter viscosity version of 75W-110 synthetic gear oil, Joe Gibbs Driven Super Speedway synthetic gear oil offers reduced parasitic drag for Super Speedway races where every last horsepower makes a difference. When used in REM polished or coated gear sets, Super Speedway gear oil provides reduced parasitic drag without compromising gear set durability. Super Speedway gear oil works well in IRL, Champ Car and GP2 gear boxes, as well as provides superior performance in crate late models, USAC midgets and NHRA Pro-Stock rear ends with polished or coated gear sets. Super Speedway gear oil protects ring gears and pinions and bearings in both Ford 9 inch rear ends and Quick Change rear ends in low horsepower and low weight race cars. Formulated for hypoid gears, Super Speedway gear oil also is an excellent choice for use in Grand American Daytona Prototype and GT class gear boxes.
Why Use Synthetic Oil?
Oil does more than just reduce friction and wear. It also serves as a vital coolant throughout your engine. Keeping parts cool and well lubricated enables parts to last longer, so the Joe Gibbs Racing team sprays oil on their valve springs, camshafts and pistons to keep them cool. The high temperatures on these parts would cause conventional oils to breakdown much faster than synthetic oil. The proof of this is in the fact that conventional base oils can handle up to 320┬░F operating temperatures, while synthetic base oils can handle up to 554┬░F operating temperatures. The improved thermal stability of synthetic oil provides increased oil longevity. These shear stable oils allow you to safely run lower viscosity oils that increase horsepower - without the danger of viscosity breakdown. Joe Gibbs Driven racing oils maintain their viscosity even after 500 miles of competition, so parts stay cool and well lubricated.
